Excellent texture. No damage whatsoever to any of the toys I tested it on, nor to my butt or urethra. I was expecting something heavier and therefore quite positively impressed to find it was thin yet dense and still worked better than my previous favorite personal lube, Swiss Navy. I still think Swiss Navy silicone is pretty awesome, but it has ingredients I don’t really want on my body, much less inside it. Other good lubes have healthier ingredients but that I can’t use, e.g. lanolin, to which I am allergic.
Recently I decided I wanted to stop wondering about sounding and actually try it. So I did. Unfortunately all the sterile lubes I can find have chemical ingredients I want to avoid or ingredients I need to avoid due to allergy or sensitivity, e.g. You’d think with all the people in the world that need lube for catheters there would be healthier sterile lubes on the market.
Now, THIS lube of course isn’t sterility controlled in the fashion of a medical lube, i.e. not bacteriostatic; BUT it’s lacking all those other nasty ingredients I have to avoid. Believe me, I have searched and could only find one medical grade lubricant that I wanted to try, but it’s only available to the industry. grr. So I got a tiny bottle of Ride BodyWorx for testing. It goes a lot further than any of my previous silicone lubes, just a dot being fine for a simple wank. Surprisingly little goes a long way for play with my large dildos and buttplug, as well.
Despite the risk of UTI, I wanted to at least test the lube for sounding, so I did. It was awesome! Now I just have to work on improving sterility. I’ve intentionally delayed sounding again in order to isolate the first trial sufficiently, to time for any resulting infection to manifest. Next on my list are DIY sterilization options and trying lube sample packs, which in theory should be less contaminated by volume of lube. It’d be awesome to be able to more scientifically test for sterility, but I don’t have the resources for that. If I remember (that’s a big if, for me), I will write a little more about my results of what worked, what I was able to procure, and what… er… left me wanting. The ideal, simple, convenient solution would be to purchase sterile, single-use packets of one product, in large quantities, say a gross per box, and be able to keep a few wherever I might want them: some in the car, some in my toy box, some in my dilator case, etc.
